If you would like to create a more complex piece or a ring, or if you would like to decorate it with a stone, 3 hours is not enough time for making the piece or setting the stone. That is why we created this workshop version, which lasts 3.5–4 hours. During this workshop, participants have the opportunity to create one ring or a few more detailed pendants, which they can take home finished at the end of the session. The workshop fee is HUF 33,750 per person and includes 7 g of silver clay, which is enough to create one larger pendant, 2–3 smaller pendants, or a small to medium-sized ring. After looking at sample pieces and receiving a short introduction to the technique, the workshop instructor demonstrates how to create a piece. With the instructor’s guidance, everyone designs their own jewelry.
The shaping of the clay-like material is similar to working with ceramic clay. The form can be refined and shaped using modeling tools, and after drying, it can be further adjusted with files and sanding. The magic happens during firing, the material transforms into solid, 99.9% pure silver.If you’d like to use more silver or add extra findings, you’ll be able to purchase additional supplies on site with a 10% discount.
This short workshop offers an introduction to the world of silver clay. Returning workshop participants can continue developing their skills and creating new pieces, but the workshop is also recommended for beginners.
